Exploring St. John’s, Newfoundland, I found plenty to photograph in the everyday details: a church steeple against a cloudy sky, leafy parks, colorful flower beds, and houses with character.
These photographs capture the city at street level. A dark wooden church with white trim makes a striking landmark, while a stone building surrounded by scaffolding adds a glimpse of restoration in progress. Nearby, park benches and winding paths offer quiet places among the trees.
Along the streets, my camera followed rooflines, chimneys, bay windows, and storefronts—including the Hungry Heart Café. Even the traffic signals caught my attention. Set among utility wires, street signs, and older buildings, they become part of the visual story of a working city.
Travel photography gives me a reason to pause and notice things I might otherwise pass by. Together, these images preserve a collection of small discoveries: architecture, greenery, and ordinary street corners that made St. John’s memorable.
