London, England - Ebury Restaurant and Wine Bar

Image
A very special place next to the Lime Tree in Belgravia. It is beautiful with Christmas decorations. The food is always wonderful and I couldn't pass up the Lobster Bisque and the full Turkey dinner with all of the fixings. Creme Brûlée with a fig and plum compote topped of the meal.  Actually, seeing the staff again five and a half years after the last visit was delightful. The middle two were working tonight. What fun and giggles looking at this photo again.  Look back at 2011. There are three posts from the restaurant: http://ladeetravels.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/london-ebury-restaurant-and-wine-bar.html?m=0 I love this place!! London, England to Bergen, Norway

We took the transfer from London to Southampton, boarded the Ruby Princess, and off we went! We have a day at sea to rest from the London tours.  The Navigator told us "Once Ruby Princess has slipped her last mooring line we will thrust off the berth and begin our 26 nm (nautical miles) journey down the Solent River.  On our way we will pass two sharp bends, Brambles and Calshot, leaving the Isle of Wight to starboard.  Soon after we will disembark our pilot at the Nab Tower, when clear of the tower we will set course through the English Channel to our next port of call, Bergen." From the Ship's Official Log Book Weather experienced throughout the day Sky:  Clear Wind:  North easterly Beaufort Force 3 Temperature:  16.5°c/61.7°f Barometric Pressure:  1018.8 mb Sunrise:  06:29 Sunset:  19:35

London, England - Hop On Hop Off Overview (1 of 2)

Image
The tour buses provide a great way to get around and see the city.  There are multiple companies who provide the tours and the routes are all about the same. The frequency may change.  We were able to purchase a ticket at a great price reduced from the internet listing.  The agents are at the common stops with wireless credit card chargers in hand. They have company logo clothing on and clearly identify themselves.  They can explain all of the tour options.  We originally planned to get a three hour all inclusive bus tour.  The agent told us that for 2 pounds more we could get the hop on hop off version and be able to stop to see something.  The ticket was good for 24 hours. These views are from the top of the open bus.  Earphones are included and you are able to listen to running commentary about the views. Trafalgar Square  Hard Rock Cafe. Love the red phone booths.  The little white building with the thatched roof is Sha...

London, England - Corner Pubs

Image
The corner Pubs are so pretty.  This is a great place to go for a typical English lunch...and to meet friends for a brew after work.  Don't be discouraged if you see a crowd of people outside and think that there is a waiting line.  Smoking was banned in the pubs and the crowd gathers outside with beer in hand.
