Cairo to Alexandria, Egypt - Highway Fun

5/16/2012 By this time we had spent two days in Egypt and were becoming accustomed to the sights and activity.  The return trip to Alexandria did not disappoint.

It looks like a truck load of boxed bottled water was laying along side the highway. There were quite a few workers out to pack up the truck.

It looked like some of the neighbors helped with the removal of the damaged goods.

A roadside stand needs a closer look.  These large containers have drink in them, I think.

The highway isn't complete yet and we could see the new road being built.

 Cell towers along the way.

A view of the life along the side of the freeway.
We saw some interesting homes.  And there, in the background on the right, are the bird houses.

There is a close up of one of the homes below.
Factories could be seen as we neared Alexandria.

The visit from Alexandria to Cairo to see the Pyramids, the Sphinx, Cairo and the Nile River, and a good overview of life in the big city with its small cafes and huge resorts.  I would definitely go again.
