Potsdam - Sanssouci Castle (Schloss Sanssouci)

Potsdam is the capital of the state and is a nice and quaint town.  There was a festival in the town center and it appeared that a lot of the people were out to celebrate Spring.  We stopped at Schloss Sanssouci (San Souci Castle). We walked around the outside of this modest yellow castle that was used for relaxation and fun.  “Sans Souci” means “without worries”, sort of like “don’t worry, be happy.”
The windmill at the entrance

Click here for detailed info on Sans Souci This is the wikipedia information about the castle.

This view looks out from the front courtyard,
to replicas of ancient Roman and Greek ruins.

The gravesite.  Yes, there are potatoes!

The gardens were very pretty and
reminded me of Versailles.

Little yellow and purple flowers were blooming in the grass.
