We were up and out of the apartment by 6:30 this morning, bought a 1.70 euro Metro ticket to get to Gare de St. Lazarre and the train. We bought our round trip ticket from Paris to Vernon (28.50 e) and sat down to wait for the 8:20 am train to depart. It was a quick 30 minute ride in to Normandy and the quaint town of Vernon. There we bought a round trip bus ticket (4e) to Giverny and we were on our way.
The gardens in Spring are wonderful. We visited the pond, the gardens and the house (no photos allowed inside the house). Then we walked through Giverny to the art museum and to the end of the road and the little church. The sign indicated that Monet was buried here, so we took off for the cemetary to find him. Returning to Paris on the train, we made it home at about 4PM. Great day! Take a look. Tina got some great ideas for her already awesome garden, and I am perhaps a little motivated to start working on mine. I want trellises!!

I love seeing pictures of the garden with the bridge. It looks just like his paintings - I know, what would I expect...
Being able to take pictures of the flowers here was wonderful. As you walk around and around, you keep seeing different things. And it's all gorgeous. I'd love to come back at different times of the year to see the changes and the new growth. This is making me want to get planting!
An added adventure was walking through the little town and up the hill to the church to look for Monet's grave. We do love our adventures (most of the time because they end with a fabulous meal)!
