The trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower is well worth any wait. The line looks long, but moves quite quickly. The views are awesome. This is probably better done near the end of the trip so that you can be familiar with the layout of the city and some of the big areas and monuments. This was on Kalen's must do list, and was a great idea. At first the sign said that the very top was temporarily closed. We were a little disappointed. Then they opened the very top and YEA! we could buy tickets. 11 Euro per person got us all the way to the top. We got off on the first floor and immediately got in line for the top elevator. Once at the top, we viewed the city from both levels and tooks tons of photos. The line for the down elevator is shorter by that time so we went down to the second level. Took the same set of "around the tower" photos. I took the elevator down and Kalen took the steps. What a guy!
The photos are of the Champ du Mars, the park that runs from the Eiffel Tower to the Ecole Militaire. The top one was taken from the very top of the tower, and the bottom one is from the second level.
The large group of photos is from the entire trip, the ride to the top, the view from the top, and the view from the mid-platform. There is one with Kalen's curved finger showing the hotel where we stayed. The very last photo, looking at the groups on the ground, shows Kalen sitting on the wall waiting for me.
