Musee Rodin

The Rodin Museum had great sculptures, both inside of the building and throughout the garden. We toured the building first as it would be first to close. I was looking forward to seeing The Kiss so we browsed the collection until we found it. A lot of magnificent works, most appear to be unfinished. This made me feel good as most of the art that I have at home (beading, quilting, painting, etc.) is in the same state.

The gardens outside were beautiful. We saw The Thinker!! Then we roamed around until we saw The Gates of Hell and Balzac. Both of these were also at the Orsay Museum. The guide said that Rodin used the lost wax process a lot, so there are a lot of good copies of his works still available.

Exhausted from a very full day, we finished at the museum and decided to walk back to the Londres (our home in Paris). We passed the place where Napoleon is buried and added it to our list for another day. The streets are wonderful for shopping and stopping in, but we needed to keep going as we were finished for the day and quite tired. This was a packed day and we certainly saw a lot. We plan to be asleep early tonight and up early for the trip to Giverny in the morning. Thanks for checking in to the travel blog. I hope that you are enjoying the travel.
