Rome, Italy - Church - Ignazio Di Loyola - Rome

There was one more Church in the area that we needed to see. I had to add this picture of the street and the parking.  It's all to scale.  Little streets lined with little cars.  SUVs just wouldn't make it down the street.

This is an interesting example of what happens to a project when the money runs out.

Little streets and little cars...jammed in.

A Jesuit Church

The ceiling paintings were incredible.

The floor was intricate.

Altar and the front ceiling. Notice the darkened area.

While the project had money, the art was fantastic.

Black hole: when the project ran out of money, the artist painted a fake raised area.

This is a beautiful book about the Churches in Rome, complete with all of the photographic detail and history. It is a little pricey, but the photographs are beautiful. If you aren't able to take these types of photos, the book is well worth it as a keepsake of your trip.

Great photos! It's just breath takingly beautiful, like so many churches there.

Yes, they are incredible. And each one has an art treasure.
