Linz, Austria - Odds and Ends

This is the final post of the Danube Christmas Cruise with Lueftner on the Amadeus Silver ship.  These are a few scenes of the river as we came to Linz and it will be time to put  my camera away and wait for another adventure.

There are clumps in these trees near the top.  That is mistletoe.  And the little small white things at the water's edge are swans.  I didn't have a good zoom lens to be able to give you a close up photograph.
We went through about 12 locks on our trip and since we went from Passau to Bratislava and back to Passau, that counts as 24 locks.  They are all different.  Here is the view of one nearest to Linz.
You can see the lock through the window.
 Homes along the Danube.
 Industry.

Night in Linz during the "blue hour".  The deep blue sky and the light reflections are very pretty.
Thank you for traveling with me.  If you have any questions, please reply to this (if you are a subscriber and get the posts via email) or leave a comment.  Happy trails!

Bratislava, Slovakia - Architecture from the River View

Bratislava has some nice architecture from the Danube River view.

Bratislava, Slovakia - Doors, Architecture and a Walk along the Danube

I enjoyed the bus ride back to the ship by watching for interesting doors and architecture.  This is some of what I saw.

Fellow traveler Heike and I decided to take a photo tour of the Danube walkway.  It was nicely bricked and had benches. The river side was lined with trees and street lamps, and there was a grassy park on the other side of the walkway with interesting plants, even in the middle of winter.

I have always liked the green bark on these trees.
The small building is a public toilette.

We are back at the Amadeus Silver.  One of the staff is there to help us down the stairs because there is no railing. So thoughtful!!
