Phoenix, Arizona - Corporate Farmers Markets

Is this a new trend? The corporate sustainability group has organized a lobby market. I was excited that it was going to be weekly. Looks like that decision will be made by interest. It is scheduled to be monthly. Again, this decision is up to the consumer. 

Phoenix, Arizona - Downtown Bike Share

I noticed this bike stand as I drove to work. It is located on 5th Street just north of Van Buren Street next to the Arizona Center. I decided to walk over and see what was going on. I did a little research when I got to my desk. Phoenix is testing GRID bikes and the city's bike share vendor CycleHop LLC started the on-street test of the rentable green bikes. 

Hilo, Hawaii - Exterior of the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Farm

This is one of the entrances to the production area.  The property is owned by Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation, the world's largest producer of macadamia seeds. It has been a subsidiary of the Hershey Company since 2004. The company takes its name from the volcano Mauna Loa. Their headquarters and main processing plant are near the mountain, south of Hilo in the Puna District of the island of Hawaiʻi, known as the Big Island. (source wikipedia)

Cairo, Egypt - Large city problems

5/15&16/2012 Cairo has the common big city problems: traffic, pollution and trash.  The traffic was pure chaos with pedestrians sharing the street with donkey carts, three wheeled taxis, small cars, small trucks, large trucks and buses.  I don’t know if there were lines on the roads or traffic lights, but apparently it didn’t matter.  Watch the video.
