Our tour bus returned to the main road and we headed towards Selcuk, a major city in this area.
The intersection are very well designed, allowing the buses ample room to change directions and pull out in to traffic.
We saw a residential shopping market, complete with an outside cafe area.
This is a combination store at the bottom, and apartments on the top floor. Judging from the pictures on the wall, this must be a shoe outlet.
Nice looking apartment buildings. The building styles are all the same, but the colors make each one look unique.
This is an old stone building.
Here is another complex. This one is "Dede". Notice that the advertisement says "Delight" and "Shoping". Oops. Shopping was spelled with only one "p".
Here is a close-up of the stone building. I tried to peak through the green tree leaves. I think that this is a Turkish bath. Not sure but quite interesting.
More street signs. I can read these. Maybe the little bit of English helps.
Some bicycles along the sidewalk. These aren't locked down, so it must be pretty safe to leave them here. I tried to figure out what was draped with the cloth in the middle of the field.
A man is enjoying a break at a nice table set under an umbrella. It looks like this area will soon have a lot of shade. A lot of these trees were planted along the walkway.
First, the red tractor caught my eye. Then, I saw the post. What is this post?
A little home with the normal day life activities going on, laundry etc.
These tables are all ready for lunch, titled to keep perhaps them dry, or the birds off of them.
Break time for the ladies.
There are more photos of Selcuk and life in Turkey in the next post.
This map is for reference and shows the location of Kusadasi, Turkey. Ephesus is in this general area.
