I exited through the large Doric screen at the end of the Palazzo degli Uffizi courtyard and crossed the street to the Arno River. The wall alongside the river was lined with spectators, jockeying for position to take a photo of Ponte Veccio.
The bridge is a medieval stone bridge with shops on it. It is one of the few remaining bridges with shops. The shops used to be filled with butchers but today there are jewellers, art dealers and souvenir sellers.
The little shops are very cute.
