[From the bus window] By the time the bus pulled away from the dock, the crew was already working on maintenance of the boat.
Nussdorf (where the boat was docked)
is a town just outside of Vienna that has the docks for the longer river boats. There is quite a lot of building and expansion happening here. We will circle around Vienna as we make our way to Schönbrunn Palace. I will point out places mentioned by the guide but other wise enjoy the view from the window.
Train stops along the rail lines. There was a stop not far from where the ship docked, so it may be worthwhile to evaluate the system if you want to tour on your own. Other passengers took the line that went from Nussdorf to the central part of Vienna and they said that it was quite easy. It is not a short walk from the dock, but manageable.

Gas station.
The tall tower and adjacent building is the newly revamped waste incineration plant "Spittelau Waste Incinerator". It was designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and built between 1969 and 1971. It is interesting in that it is an artsy building that burns waste right where it was created, in the middle of Vienna. Read more about it on the utility's website.
