Salzburg is the fourth largest city in Austria. The name means "Salt fortress". This is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the setting for the musical play and movie "The Sound of Music". [source: Wikipedia]
The bus drove through a newer section as we made our way to the old city center. I didn't see anything new or curious. Street crossings were marked the same. A bus stop looked the same. Houses, shops, hotels, fruit stands (typical for Europe but not in Phoenix).
There are four cow statues here. As I researched "cows in Salzburg", I discovered a "Cows on Parade" event that happens in various cities. I will look carefully at other photographs in the Salzburg set to see if I captured a closer photograph.
Car dealership
Railroad tracks in the city center.
At a glance, it looks like this is a restaurant (the sign) and quite a lot of bicycles.
A fruit and vegetable market.
Regular stores.
This gives one the idea on how green and lush it must look in the summer.
Crowne Plaza hotel
A church and a bus stop.
The bus has come to a stop and parked. We will disembark and begin our city walking tour.
