Phoenix, AZ - The Road Starts Here: Packing for the Canyon and Beyond

I sat in the car. The list was done. The doors were locked. I had what I needed. I think.

I keep the load small. It’s easier that way. You carry less. You lose less. You miss less.

But there’s always something you forget. You just don’t know it yet.

The hats are packed. The tripod’s in the trunk. The umbrella rattles in the door well. I hate the sound, but I let it stay. Might need it.

I’ve traveled like this before. One suitcase. One week. Enough to pass. Not enough to notice.

We’ll start with the Canyon. Then Phoenix. But I’m not thinking about Phoenix yet.
