Ladee's Travels

I spent a few hours this morning at the Phoenix Zoo with family visiting my favorite animals and seeing a few new ones.

It was a delight to awaken to a foggy morning.  We have had a few days of light rain, and with the perfect conditions...fog rolled in.  I drove to Tempe Town Lake and walked from the Tempe Arts building to the Mill Avenue bridge sets.  I normally produce the photographs in color, but these begged to be black and white. The Pedestrian Bridge by Tempe Arts building.  The walkway surrounds the lake.  Ducks on the water.  There were several photographers out to capture the fog.  This man said that he grabbed his camera and dashed out the door, shouting over his shoulder "Honey, I will probably be late for church!"  A panoramic.  The birds sat on the buoys.  They were there early to get the seats to watch the people take pictures!  Rowing on the lake.  There were serious fishers.  One lone pole.  Railroad and Light rail bridges.  I continued walking to see the Mill Ave...

I wanted to get out to photograph some Phoenix area lights and a group was meeting at Chris Birkitt's so I decided to join them.  I wanted to get there before the crowds as these things are often too crowded for me to comfortably stand with a tripod. It was about sunset, so this mild mannered neighborhood home looked festive with the lights starting to turn on. But as the sun dropped, the real glow began.  This is a closer view of the front of the house, with detailed pictures.  This is hard to see.  It is Rudolph in blue with his red nose. I walked over to the entrance to go to the back yard.  Cozy fire pit.  I took one last photo as I left and the colors were so, well, Christmasy.
