[From the Bus]
The tour for the day was a part bus, part walking tour of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The bus picked us up at the ship and we traveled up the steep slopes past the embassies to the castle.
One of the most interesting bridges is the "Most SNP". It is commonly known as the UFO Bridge because of the shape of the restaurant on top. This is the world's longest cable-stayed to have one pylon and one cable-stayed plane. The restaurant is reached by an elevator in the east pillar and offers a great view of Bratislava.
A view of the architecture as we climb the steep road to the top.
And of course there are many interesting doors along the way.
We are driving on the embassy row street. This is the US Embassy. It looks like the White House.
I caught a quick view from the opposite window of the downtown area.
The rest of this post is imaginative architecture.
