Vienna - Cafe Sperl

Whole Bean Caffeinated Cafe Sperl  Cafe Sperl coffee at home.  Try it! (affiliate link).
Years ago I bought coffee from Gevalia, online, and received the European Classics selections. One of the coffees was "Cafe Sperl" and I remembered that it was in Vienna. I planned a trip to this cafe so that I could experience it for myself. I was not disappointed.  And now that I have discovered that I can purchase it online from Amazon (link at the top of the page), I think that I will need to relive my adventure!

Main Entrance is quite inviting.  But when I looked over to the side,
the outside cafe looked much nicer.

There were a few empty tables.

A previous visitor to the apartment had recommended to try
Ottakringer while in Vienna.  So, I'll take one of those...

Ohh, good. And I will take a Melange after the meal.

I wanted to order something from the Specialty
menu.  Now, to see if I can find a word or two that
I recognize. Hmmm.

Or perhaps from the Tageskarte, the daily menu.
Let's see.  Nudel.  Looks like "noodle" and then
there is a "salat".  Bet that this is a salad.  So, for 7,30
that is what I will have.

Ottakringer - beer with lemon

Zitrone. And thank goodness for pictures.

It was tasty and I put it on my list to find when I return to Phoenix.
Nice summer beer.

Ah, ok, so here is my "nudel".  It was good.

And a small side "salat".  Good also. I like the look of those thinly
sliced cucumbers.  Quite dainty.

This was "schnitzel".

with "vogerlsalat".  Potato. Got it.

The cups and plates all had the name "cafe Sperl".

This is a side view.

And the perfect finish: Melange, little glasses of water,
creme and sugar.  And Sacher Torte!

Looks good.
Again, note that it does not have the chocolate
Sacher candy on the top.

Here is a map of the day's trek around the Vienna town center. Click on the map to enlarge. Then "back arrow" to return to the blog.

Ottakringer Beer - Click here to order it online.  I'm also going to check at my local high-end grocery store.

I couldn't find a place to purchase the Ottakringer Beer from Amazon, but I did find reference material for the Austrian Breweries.
