Paris - St Eustache

As we were walking home from the Metro, we passed St. Eustache church and realized that Mass had just started. We walking in the door and slid in to a seat.  I understand that this church is second in size to Notre Dame.  Awesome flying buttresses.

Saint-Eustache details

This was the music near the end of the service. We thought that the organist was going to break out in to "Phantom of the Opera"!!  Tina was watching one of the deacon's and he was looking around, making OMG expressions.  The deacon next to him was stone faced and refused to make any visual commentary.  Enjoy!

FYI: When the collection basket was brought around, I emptied my pockets and put in every last coin that I had, just in case I was in trouble for filming during the service.  I was very discreet and set the camera in my lap during the filming.

More signs of spring in the neighborhood!

  1. I enjoyed the videos. Let's hope your change was enough to buy off forgiveness after filming!!

  2. One can only hope that it will be enough. I have some friends that appear to be experts on this subject, so hopefully they will weigh in on this event.

  3. Well we hadn't been in Paris too long and Ladee is already breaking the rules. But for a good cause. It's so much fun to be spontaneous, and attending this Mass was completely that as it was certainly not on our long list of things to do. So glad we made time for it, though.
