Paris - Apartment Neighborhood

We are getting to know our local shop owners and missed them when they were closed over the weekend.

We buy our bread and pastries from this little shop and fruits and vegetables from the one with the fruit out front.  There is normally a line out the door so it is a favorite of many.  This morning we slept in, finished laundry (well, not really...that is a totally other story that I'll get to later), and then went to rue Montorgrueil to the regular store for some needed supplies such as coffee, tissues, soap and lotion.

Nice shop on rue de Coquillere. They have bread and pastries,
and also sandwiches, quiches, little pies, and chocolate.

Yummy breakfast role with pistacio and chocolate.
Enjoyed it with an espresso.

Eyed the pear and pistacio tarte for desert tonight.
(Poire Pistache).  What is with my new found addiction to
pistacio???

The neighborhood fruit and vegetable market.

We stopped in this post office to buy some stamps for
Tina's postcards.  Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Postcard stamp was .87 euro.

  1. OK, this is totally stupid to say, but when I look at these pictures I think, "Oh, it looks so French! It would make a great movie set!!".

  2. I love our bakery. Will never be able to order properly, but I'm an excellent pointer.

  3. You did an awesome job communicating with the ladies behind the counter. We always walked out of the store with a bag full of good things.
