Isafjordur, Iceland - Change of Plans

The Commodore decided to bypass this port due to rough water conditions for the tenders and an incoming storm.  We have traveled 1990.4 nautical miles (nm) from Southampton, 247 from Akureyri.  We have 153 nm to go to Reykjavik and 2,676 remaining to New York City.  It will be overcast throughout the day with rain forecast for tomorrow.  It is 53.6 degrees.  The sea condition has large waves at 11.5’ and the wind is 51.6 knots.

We will dock at Reykjavik tonight about 7:30PM and continue with the scheduled touring.

From the Ship's Official Log Book
Due to adverse weather conditions it was not safe for the Ruby to enter Isafjordur instead the Ruby Princess continued heading south towards Reykjavik.  At 19:00 we boarded the local pilot and proceeded into port coming alongside our berth first lines were sent ashore at 19:43 and by 20:37 we were all fast alongside our berth with the gangways rigged and ready.
