The Mission serves the Tohono O'odham (formerly Papago).
The exterior and details: The mission was founded in 1692 by a Jesuit missionary, Father Kino. Constuction began in 1700. The exterior is Moorish-inspired elegant white stucco.
We walked through the courtyard to the Museum space.
And returned to the main sanctuary once the service had ended. The photos are from the back, as I moved to the front, and some other items that I saw as I returned to the back exit.
Examples of the frescoes, painted directly on the walls.
Massive mesquite wood doors at the entrance.
We exited through the main courtyard.
I turned to take a few more shots from the side courtyard exit.
There are many vendors with good food.
Our fried bread preparation. I put the camera away to enjoy my food.
