Jinheon-dong, South Korea - Bulguksa Temple Entrance

A large engraved boulder shows that this site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1995.  The site is the head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and encompasses seven National Treasures of South Korea.  The temple is classified as Historic and Scenic Site No. 1 by the South Korean Government.

The Temple looks very festive in preparation of the upcoming celebration of Buddha's birthday.
 A large map on the exterior wall gives you a perspective on the size of the complex.
 Our guide points out interesting places along the planned route.

 Our first important stop was the toilet.
 The area was clearly marked for "Lady" and "Gentle Man".
 The guide pointed to the handicapped bathroom which was open.  The doors slid open and closed.  I couldn't figure out how to lock them, so I quickly took care of business and got out of there.  Quite a modern facility.
 The building had a very nice paint job.
 The crowd stopped and all of the cameras were clicking on this unique looking butterfly.

 The group now headed to the main building area.  The walkway was lined with beautiful ponds.
