Vienna - Cafe Opernring

Cafe Opernring is located across the street from the Vienna Opera House. It is an English friendly place with reasonably priced good food.  This was the first exposure to Sacher Torte, although the waiter simply called it chocolate cake.

Fresh local beer
Large one was 3.90 euro, smaller one was 3.10 euro

The daily menu is written on the chalk board.

Hand written menu

Vienna sausages with cabbage and fried potatoes
8.90 euro

  1. Looks like a wonderful meal. It has touches of the German meals and a bit of the Paris meals!

  2. Never ever eat there again. The waitress didn´t calculate bill properly (1 eur more) and then she added some strange tax for food (it was not mentioned in menu). I think 2,60 for 1 roll is a little bit too much. As I wrote before, never ever again.
