MS Swiss Ruby - Captain's Farewell Dinner

The bling was unwrapped and and all dressed for the Captain's Farewell Dinner. Hosted cocktails were served in the upper lounge.  It was fun to chat about the week and enjoy the special treatment from the wonderful staff on the MS Swiss Ruby.

Fancy spoons for the appetizers in the lounge.

They look good.

Yes, I think that it is...
Very fancy!

The dining room looked very nice.
The candles were light and the curtains were pulled
It was all very elegant.

The tables were set.  Each guest received
a silver "MS Swiss Ruby" napkin ring
as a gift.

I was able to wear the beaded piece that my mother
had brought back from the Caribbean to dress
up my wardrobe for this special event.

Such a dear and wonderful woman! She
was a super server and took very good care
of our section during the week.

Mellon on Port Wine Jelly

Cappuccino of Oxtail
served with a cheese stick

Sauteed shrimps
served with a spice cherry tomato sauce
accompanied with safran risotto

Green Apply Sorbet
with sparkling wine

Another shot of the beautiful dining room

Roastbeef a la chef
Roastbeef baked to a perfect medium and served
on a truffle jus, accompanied by potato tart,
enhanced with cabbage and a mushroom goose liver
duxelles wrapped in a puff pastry.

The staff brings in in the "Grand Dessert Swiss Ruby"
and it is quite a production.

Anja (Cruise Director) brought out the chef and we
recognized his outstanding work with a round
of applause.  He was incredible.
I teared up because I won't get to eat like this every day.

A beautiful ice cream cake with fruit.

Brandy was brought as a finishing touch.
What a superior finish. Chocolate Truffles that melt in your mouth.
This was all an incredible meal. Many applause and "Thank you" go to the staff of the MS Swiss Ruby.
